The names are easy to confuse, but Dream Companion and OurDream are different services.

They use similar names and both have a virtual currency, but an OurDream subscription does not work on Dream Companion and vice versa. Check the domain before entering payment details or searching for cancellation instructions.
How much does Dream Companion cost in 2026?
Dream Companion has a limited free experience and two paid tiers, Premium and Ultimate. The current public subscription metadata advertises Premium from $5.84 per month when billed $69.99 annually. The live plan page advertises Ultimate at $299.88 annually and shows 800 Dream Coins per month.

The subscription page also offers monthly billing. It currently describes the Ultimate monthly rate as $1.50 per day, while annual Ultimate is shown as $0.83 per day. Those displays imply very different total commitments, so confirm the exact monthly amount and renewal interval on the final payment screen instead of multiplying a rounded daily rate yourself.
What Premium includes
The current site describes Premium as the lower paid tier for regular users. Published plan data lists:
- 6,000 messages per month;
- 100 Dream Coins each month;
- multiple custom characters;
- image and video generation;
- voice messages and voice calls;

Dream Companion's Terms of Use were last modified in July 2024. They say paid subscribers receive 100 Dream Coins, while the current Ultimate checkout clearly offers 800 coins per month. The Terms also describe each coin-based use as costing between 3 and 20 coins but do not provide a current feature-by-feature price table.
This appears to be older plan language rather than evidence that Ultimate receives only 100 coins. Still, billing documentation should agree. Save a copy of the checkout terms and receipt, and verify:
- the plan name;
- the amount charged today;
- the renewal amount and date;
- the recurring coin allowance; and
- whether a discount applies only to the first billing period.
What do Dream Coins actually buy?
Dream Coins are separate from the text-message allowance. They fund premium media and creation actions such as images, video, voices, calls, or additional characters.
Dream Companion's current plan page gives useful equivalents for each monthly allowance:

- three minutes of calling per week; or
- slightly more than one video per week.
Ultimate provides eight times as many coins, but its annual price is more than four times Premium's. The upgrade makes sense only if you value the higher message ceiling, longer memory, advanced models, priority speed, and media allowance together—not merely because 800 is a larger number.
Dream Companion can also sell additional coin packs. Because pack prices and promotions can change after login, calculate the cost of the actions you expect to use before buying a long subscription.
Is Dream Companion free?
Dream Companion is free to sample, but the free tier is not enough to evaluate the complete product. Its current Terms say a free user can create one character and normally send between 10 and 20 messages before further interaction is restricted. That preview can answer a few basic questions:

- Do you like the character library and visual style?
- Does the first conversation match your preferred tone?
- Is the custom character workflow easy to understand?
It cannot reliably answer whether long-term memory works, whether replies remain varied over several weeks, how consistent generated images are, or how quickly your normal media use consumes coins. Those are the features that matter most after the novelty wears off.
Do not buy Ultimate annually after ten good messages. If the checkout offers a monthly option, one paid month is the safer way to test memory, voice, images, and the actual coin burn before committing $299.88.
How good are Dream Companion's characters and chat?
Variety is Dream Companion's clearest strength on paper. Its public directory contains realistic and anime characters covering many personalities, relationship setups, visual traits, and story types. Users who do not want to configure a companion can begin with an existing character; creators can define their own.
The homepage says characters remember previous conversations, adapt to the user's preferences, and keep a consistent identity across generated photos. The Ultimate page advertises extended memory and advanced models, implying that the depth of continuity depends partly on the subscription tier.
Those are product claims, not published benchmark results. Dream Companion does not provide enough public technical detail to compare context windows, memory retrieval accuracy, or retention length with Nomi, Kindroid, or Replika on an equal basis.
When testing any AI companion's memory, plant ordinary details instead of asking “Do you remember me?” Try:
- a food preference;
- a fictional event shared with the character;
- a preferred nickname;
- a boundary or topic to avoid; and
- a future plan with a date.
Return after several conversations and see whether the companion recalls the facts naturally, contradicts them, or requires prompting. A memory badge is less important than correct use in context.

Dream Companion's media features are the main reason to choose it over a text-only chatbot.

The company markets realistic generation and visual consistency: the same companion should retain a recognizable face and body across different settings. Users can create images from character context and prompts, with Dream Coins paying for generation.
Image consistency is difficult for every generative service. Evaluate at least ten varied scenes before deciding it works reliably. Change clothing, lighting, pose, camera distance, and location, then compare facial identity and distinctive features. One good promotional portrait proves very little.
Video
Paid plans include short AI video generation, with Ultimate advertising longer generations. Video costs substantially more coins than still images based on the company's own allowance examples. Look for facial stability, natural motion, and whether the clip matches the prompt rather than judging only one attractive first frame.
Voice messages and calls
Premium media includes spoken replies and voice calls, while Ultimate advertises faster audio and 96 call minutes if all 800 monthly coins were devoted to calling. Calls can make a companion feel more immediate, but they are also a recurring meter. A user who talks for 20 minutes every weekend could consume most of an Ultimate coin allowance through calls alone.

Is Dream Companion safe and private?
Dream Companion is a real operating service with a named German company, published legal policies, account controls, and support contacts. That does not make sharing sensitive information risk-free. Its privacy policy says conversations are processed and stored, protected with encryption and access controls, and may be used in anonymized or aggregated form to improve its AI and services.
The policy also names a long list of measurement and marketing tools, including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Hotjar, TrafficJunky, and JuicyAds technologies. Those disclosures matter because chat privacy and website-tracking privacy are different questions. A company can keep message content out of advertising while still measuring visits, devices, conversions, and browsing behavior.
Other important disclosures include:
- account and profile data may include name, birth date, usage information, browser data, location, IP address, cookies, and content submitted to the platform;
- conversations can be used to personalize the experience and improve AI with anonymized or aggregated data;
- no fixed universal deletion period is stated; data is retained as long as necessary for the described purposes and legal obligations;
- selected users may have to complete identity or age verification through Didit;
- Didit may process government-ID images and biometric face or video data, while Dream Companion says it receives the verification result and necessary metadata rather than raw biometric data; and
- EU users are told they may have access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability rights under GDPR.
Dream Companion says personal conversations are encrypted and treated confidentially, but the policy does not promise conventional end-to-end encryption. The service needs readable chat context to generate replies, memory, moderation, and model improvements.
Its Terms also grant Dream Companion a broad, perpetual license over “User Submissions” for operating and promoting the service. Because the definition can cover text, images, feedback, and other uploaded material, do not submit a real person's image, voice, private messages, or intellectual property without permission.
Practical privacy precautions are straightforward:
- use a unique password and a separate email address;
- avoid real addresses, financial data, workplace secrets, account-recovery answers, and information about other people;
- check whether a created character is public before adding personal details;
- do not upload another person's face or voice without clear consent;
- request access to your data before account deletion if you want a record; and
- remember that deleting an account may not instantly remove every legal record, backup, or anonymized derivative.

Content rules and age restrictions
Dream Companion is restricted to users aged 18 or older and to anyone who has reached the age of majority and consent in their jurisdiction. The entry gate asks users to confirm their age, and the privacy policy says selected accounts may face third-party identity verification.
Its public community rules prohibit child exploitation, non-consensual content, trafficking, commercial sexual activity, pornography as legally defined by its policy, hate and violence, personal-data exposure, malicious activity, and several other illegal or harmful uses. The company says automated systems and human moderators may review accounts, characters, and interactions when enforcing those rules.
That means “without filters” in marketing language does not literally mean no rules. Every legitimate platform has legal and safety boundaries, and Dream Companion reserves the right to limit or terminate accounts that violate them.
How cancellation and refunds work
Dream Companion subscriptions renew until canceled. The Terms provide this cancellation path:
